Whether or not last week's Daily Mail article was true about Fox being angry about Chanel's new ad keeping Keira in Paris and away from US Never Let Me Go promotions, she seems to have made up for it this week with satellite interviews from London:

Keira was in Paris today, filming a new TV ad for Chanel. She was snapped looking very sexy astride a powerful motorbike. Reminded me of Princess from Battle of the Planets (showing my age now!).

In an article on the proprosed new rules to airbrushing in French magazines, it tells of Dominique Isserman's denial of Keira's breast enhancement in her recent Chanel ads, contrary to the press's claims.

A new Chanel ad for Coco Mademoiselle seems to be on its way, according to the caption on the left of this new photo. There is now a translation online.

EXCLUSIVE:
After correspondence with Keira's agent today I can announce the following:
- Keira is no longer attached to King Lear as the whole project has been shelved. Very sad news indeed, and the second Ruby Films project Keira has seen mothballed - remember Tulip Fever ?
- Keira will play Lillian Palmer (the reclusive actress) in London Boulevard. I had wondered if she would play the love interest Aisling instead.
- Keira is still NOT confirmed for My Fair Lady.
- Keira has not recorded another Chanel commercial or photoshoot, contrary to rumours, and there are no current plans for any promotions.

Recent news reports such as this one have resurrected the story from earlier this year that Emma Watson has replaced Keira as the face of Chanel's fragrance Coco Mademoiselle. I can confirm from official sources in the last 24 hours that this is NOT the case. Keira is still contracted to Chanel, Emma is not.

The Mail on Sunday reports Chanel has further plans for Keira after her promotions for Coco Mademoiselle are handed over to Emma Watson this summer.

Chanel today gave me exclusive access to the final cut of the Coco Mademoiselle commercial, and it really is superb. Seeing it on TV won't do it justice - I hope people will get to see it in cinemas too. I've also seen many more documentaries about the making of the film and the Chanel house and products. The commercial can be seen from the 12th worldwide in most countries I believe - Liz from Malaysia was surprised to learn it will be shown there. You can still see the making-of video here (4Mb).

If you've seen mademoiselle-forever.com since the beginning of the month you'll know about the movie projections of Keira onto blank walls around the world - an effective and original idea for marketing a product! If you're near London, you can see Keira's light projection show from 9pm till midnight this Thursday at Chanel's boutique on the Brompton Road in Knightsbridge, SW3.

Keira and the rest of the Atonement cast are in Venice today where the movie opens the Venice Film Festival. Lots of lovely pics here, here, here and here. At a press conference this afternoon the Daily Mail - who else ? - asked Keira about her figure and airbrushing of the Chanel image, which she denied. But that didn't stop them publishing this typically tabloid titled article shortly afterwards.
Not a lot of TV footage at the moment, just this (1Mb) from EuroNews. More tomorrow when GMTV and E! News catch up.

The nice people at Chanel have today sent me a promotional gift box for Coco Mademoiselle containing the perfume, a booklet and a CD on the making of the commercial. The new campaign launches on September 1st and the ad should be available from this web site, as well as on TV and cinema screens.

EXCLUSIVE: The CD also included a feature on Keira which I have uploaded here (4Mb). I'm sure Chanel would not want me to upload the main feature but as this is a Keira site I hope they'll forgive me for putting the Keira film online. (Watch it now just in case!). It may appear on the above site after September 1st so please respect my adherence to copyright issues and don't upload it to YouTube before then.

knightley-infos has a scan of a French article with the first image of Keira in the Chanel commercial, looking not unlike a younger version of Mademoiselle Coco Chanel herself - which may be the intended homage as the perfume is called Coco Mademoiselle.

French fan site knightley-infos has some details of the forthcoming Chanel commercial starring Keira and directed by Joe Wright. It states that Keira will be seen in front of the Eiffel Tower and Vendome Place pillar wearing a red silk dress designed by Karl Lagerfeld.

Keira's agent told me today that she has recorded her first TV commercial for Chanel and, as per the rumours, it has been directed by Joe Wright.

....Now onto news about something that WILL happen: Keira's first Chanel commercial. FemaleFirst are reporting that Joe Wright will be directing Keira in her first 'short film' for the company, due out in early 2007. Not sure if they have their wires crossed here, but Joe doesn't seem arty-farty enough for Chanel's ads, from what I remember of them. Perhaps they've realised they may sell more goodies if people can actually understand what their ads are about.

Keira was in Paris earlier this week for a meeting with people at Chanel, whose main offices are in the French capital. See pics at Keira Seduction. The first TV commercial and print ads for Coco Mademoiselle are due early next year.

Keira made a statement regarding her Chanel contract. She said: ""(I am) really proud to have been asked to work with such an iconic house as Chanel, and thrilled to follow the extraordinary women who have been associated with it before."

Chanel have officially announced that Keira will take over from Kate Moss as the face of their fragrance Coco Mademoiselle. Keira will start a contract of TV commercials and print advertisements in 2007. Vice president of Chanel Fragrance said: "What makes Keira exceptional is that she shows strength and independence through the film roles she chooses to play. And she certainly has a vein of irreverence that is similar to Mademoiselle Chanel herself." They point out that Kate is not being replaced by Keira: Kate's contract was due to end at the end of this year, before her trouble with the drug scandal that has lost her several contracts (yet gained her even more). This is the first global endorsement campaign Keira will be involved in. The Asprey ads were exclusive to high-end glossy mags and no commercials or billboards. Her Lux commercials are broadcast only on Japanese TV. So those few parts of the world yet to know who Keira is won't have long to wait before they find out.

There's a whisper that Keira will be the new face of cosmetics, perfume, jewellery and clothing giant Chanel. This is not confirmed and should be made official by the company in a press release within the week if true (Unless someone can give me proof before then). This will, if confirmed, provide her biggest global exposure yet: on billboards, magazines, TV ads etc. The Lux ads are exclusive to Japan and the Asprey ads are targeted towards the high-end fashion publications, but Chanel is a brand known worldwide. Nicole Kidman is the current face of Chanel No.5, and Mrs. Johnny Depp Vanessa Paradis promoted their perfume in the late 1980s.
